What’s going on this week:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Your baby doesn’t have much room to maneuver now that he’s over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1\/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it’s so snug in your womb, he isn’t likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete \u2014 he’ll spend the next few weeks putting on weight.<\/em><\/p>\n

My Update: <\/strong><\/p>\n

Due Date: November 4, 2011 \u2013\u00a0 today is the magical ’35 weeks along \/ 35 days to go’ mark.<\/p>\n

Weight Gain: +22 lbs from pre-preg weight.<\/p>\n

Symptoms: Same as last week! And I’m noticing that my feet are tending to swell up just a* bit* by the end of the day.<\/p>\n

Cravings\/Aversions:\u00a0 Nothing but the ice chewing.<\/p>\n

Sleep: Waking up a lot to pee and change positions.\u00a0 This belly is heavy!<\/p>\n

I am loving:\u00a0 Washing all the tiny baby blankets and clothes!<\/p>\n

I miss:\u00a0 Not having to rock back and forth to gain momentum before launching myself off the couch\/bed\/chair, etc….<\/p>\n

Movement:\u00a0 Still the same – he’s a mover and a shaker.<\/p>\n

<\/em> Nursery progress:\u00a0 I’ve been adding little touches here and there.\u00a0 And I still want to add a side table next to the glider, and a small bookshelf, and some pictures on the walls.\u00a0 All in good time!\u00a0 I’ve also started packing the baby’s bag for taking to the birth center when delivery time arrives.\u00a0 So far in it, he’s got a hat, socks, 2 blankets, some mittens, a newborn outfit and a\u00a0 0-3 mos outfit, his baby book (for foot prints).\u00a0 The birth center will have some stuff we can use – a throw away hat for when he is all gunky and some diapers, but mostly, he doesn’t need that much stuff!\u00a0 Now I just need to work on packing up MY bag.<\/p>\n

Looking forward to: Seeing Scott’s face when this baby is born.\u00a0 I have imagined how he will react, but I guess no imagining will be like the real thing!<\/p>\n
